about
Leven began, as many things do.
A quiet dream. Somewhere between raising young children and everyday moments, the idea of a space full of soft textures and considered offerings began to take shape.
Calm, thoughtful, and intentionally different. A place where customers could browse slowly and without pressure. A place where each piece felt special; not something you would find in every shop window, but something quietly distinctive. Encouraged by her husband to develop a vision she had carried for some time, founder & owner Kath Pilcher opened the doors back in 2014.
The name Leven holds its own story. Drawn from Kath’s Dutch heritage, the word means life — or to live. Short, simple, and rich with personal meaning, it felt like the perfect expression of what the store would become: a celebration of the small rituals and objects that bring warmth and beauty to everyday living.
It is a hope that on our shelves you can identify an ethos for natural fibres and timeless silhouettes — pieces that move easily between seasons and become lasting companions in a wardrobe. The same method guides our homeware collections: items designed not simply to decorate a home, but to live within it. A hand towel, a body wash, a candle — small, simple luxuries that become part of daily rituals.
